Camp Echo Bulletin 12/26/06: Sad News

Karen Featherstone died peacefully in her sleep on Christmas morning 
after a long illness. Neil is comforted by the love and presence of 
his sons Jim and Bill and their families; Don and his family will be 
arriving from London on Wednesday.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, from 4pm to 8pm at Crandell 
Funeral Home, 7193 W. 48th in Fremont. There will be a memorial service 
Friday, December 29, at 1pm at the Congregational Church, 
714 Hillcrest in Fremont. 

In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial contributions can be made in 
Karen's name to the Fremont Area Community Foundation, 
4424 W. 48th St. PO Box B, Fremont, MI, 49412.

Karen and Neil spent summers at Camp Echo from the late 50s through the 
late 60s while Neil was Camp Echo Director. Karen's love for camp and 
support for the staff and campers became an integral part of the Echo 
Spirit and will remain in our hearts and minds forever.

Those of us who gather at the Camp Echo Reunion in Evanston on Friday 
night will share fond memories of Karen, Neil, and the Featherstone 
family who have given so much to Camp Echo over the years.
